Grazing Guidelines for Noxious Weed Control

Grazing Guidelines for Noxious Weed Control

The cover of a handbook titled "Livestock Grazing Guidelines for Controlling Noxious Weeds in the Western United States."

Researchers, ranchers, and land managers know that livestock grazing can be a valuable and selective noxious-weed management tool, but until recently there wasn’t one source that summarized the effective techniques.

With funding from the Western Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program, Jason Davison at the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension and colleagues designed a handbook for using livestock for noxious-weed control in nine Western states. The guide includes detailed information on 26 weed species and is available as a free download.
