Pesticide Safety Training for Hawaii's Farm Sector
The College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources at the University of Hawaii recently produced two pesticide-safety training charts aimed at Hawaii's diverse farm sector.
The charts, titled "Protect Yourself and Workers From Pesticides" and "Apply Pesticides Safely, Legally, Effectively" have instructions in English, Mandarin, Tagalog and Thai. According to lead author James Hollyer, they are designed for use in classroom presentations as well as on-farm training, and the university will make the editable files available to any state that wants to modify and use them.
